A Decade of Farm-to-Table Raw Pet Food
This year marks an exciting milestone for our family-owned business—BJ’s Raw Pet Food is celebrating ten years of serving pets and the people who love them. What started as a passion-driven mission has grown into a trusted name in raw pet nutrition, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the journey and the community that has supported us along the way.
Like many great ideas, BJ’s Raw Pet Food was born out of a simple need: better nutrition for our own pets. We wanted food that was natural, wholesome, and aligned with how animals are meant to eat. When we couldn’t find exactly what we were looking for, we decided to create it ourselves. That decision sparked the beginning of something much bigger than we ever imagined!
When we first started, we operated out of a small building on our property. In those early days, customers found us through word of mouth and would drive up to our barn to place their orders. As neighbors shared our story and friends told friends, our community—and our business—began to grow.
Ten years later, we’re proud to still serve many of the original customers who have been with us since the beginning. A trusted source for Lancaster County raw pet food. At the same time, we’ve expanded far beyond those early days, and our products are now enjoyed by customers in all 50 states.
From the very beginning, our focus has been clear—quality matters. We have always emphasized consistency in delivering a high-quality product to our customers. Pets depend on us for their health and well-being, and we take that responsibility seriously. Every product we offer is crafted with care, using ingredients we trust and processes we stand behind. We believe strongly in holistic pet nutrition!
Another cornerstone of our success has been variety. We understand that every pet is different, and their nutritional needs can vary. That’s why we’ve made it a priority to offer a wide range of proteins, giving pet owners the flexibility to choose what works best for their animals. Whether it’s for dietary sensitivities, preferences, or simply providing balanced nutrition, variety has always been key to what we do.
Perhaps the most important lesson we’ve learned over the past decade is the value of listening. Our customers have played a huge role in shaping BJ’s Raw Pet Food into what it is today. From product feedback to new ideas, we’ve grown by paying attention to the people who trust us with their pets’ health. Their input has helped us improve, expand, and stay true to our mission.
Being a family-owned business means that everything we do is personal. We’re not just making pet food—we’re building relationships, supporting fellow pet lovers, and contributing to healthier, happier lives for animals. One of the greatest joys for us is seeing photos of your pets thriving on our food. We enjoy connecting with customers who visit our store on our family farm in Lancaster, PA, hearing how they discovered us and the transformation our raw food has had on their pets.
As we celebrate ten years in business, we’re filled with gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead. We remain committed to the same values that got us started: high-quality products, a diverse selection of proteins, and a willingness to listen and evolve with our customers’ needs.

We would also like to share the date for our 10th Anniversary Customer Appreciation Day which will be held on Saturday, September 12th. We will be open from 9:00am - 3:00pm EST in Lancaster, PA, and will have food and activities on our farm. Get to know our dogs that live here on the farm!
Bella, our Golden Retriever, is equal parts fluff, charm, and unapologetic mischief. She firmly believes she’s the true CEO of the business—her main responsibilities include quality control (taste-testing new products),(okay to have this in here?) greeting every visitor like a long-lost best friend, and strategically placing herself wherever snacks might appear. She is sort of our Princess, always posing for a photo op!
Ginger, our German Shepherd, is the steady presence that keeps everything in line. Loyal, intelligent, and always alert, she takes her role very seriously—whether it’s watching over the farm, or keeping an eye on the daily operations, you will most often see her napping outside during the summer time. Most times she watches the other dogs when they play, but every now and then you will see Ginger playfully chasing the other dogs around the yard.
Lilac, our Frenchie, is a tiny bundle of personality—with just a little extra… aroma. Her gas has a way of making an entrance before she does (and occasionally clearing the room), but we like to think it’s all part of her charm. Despite that, she absolutely loves people and believes everyone she meets is there just to give her attention. She lives for ear scratches, happily melting into anyone willing to oblige, and has no problem making herself right at home in your lap. Other dogs, however, aren’t really her thing—Lilac prefers to be the center of attention and keep all the love for herself.
Trixie, our Border Collie mix, is a social butterfly with boundless energy and a heart full of love. She’s usually the first to greet anyone who comes by, eager for pets, attention, and a little friendly chatter. Trixie lives for playtime, especially when a ball is involved—throw it once, and she’ll chase it with unstoppable enthusiasm, ready to bring it back again and again. Affectionate, outgoing, and endlessly playful, Trixie has a way of making every visitor feel like a best friend.
